Frequently Asked Questions
How long will the treatment and recovery take?
The application of the Obagi Blue Peel Radiance will take around 20 minutes dependant on the number of layers we determine are necessary to achieve your desired result.
Your skin may begin to feel slightly dry and resurface within 2-3 days. There is little peeling or downtime with this peel, so you can return to your usual activities feeling confident, but we usually recommend a healing period of up to 10 days.
What happens at my free consultation?
At your free consultation, we will take a medical history and discuss your areas of concern. Sometimes we may advise a combination of treatments to achieve the result you are looking for.
What is the aftercare & how many sessions are needed?
- Do not over moisturise and ensure you keep the skin dry
- Avoid sun exposure and make sure you use sunscreen until healing has started
- Avoid strenuous exercise and sweating
Within two weeks after your treatment, we will invite you back for a check-up, just to make sure you’re comfortable and are having no problems.
For this chemical peel treatment, you may need multiple sessions to achieve the results you are looking for. We recommend one peel every two weeks - Total of 5 to 6 sessions. However, this does depend on your individual condition.
Are there any side effects?
As with any aesthetic procedure, there can be side effects. There will be an initial redness in the area treated and the skin will feel tight for a short period afterwards.
Is there any pain?
You will experience a severe peeling sensation resembling a bad sunburn. This will occur between days 3-5 after treatment.
There are no serious side effects with this treatment, but some patients experience stinging and soreness during treatment.
