HydraFacial Q&A: What, How and Why?
The HydraFacial started life back in 1997 in Southern California, but it’s only in the past few years that its popularity has truly taken hold in the UK. These days, it’s one of the must-have beauty treatments and can really work wonders for your skin.
At AL Aesthetics, we’re used to being asked all sorts of questions relating to our HydraFacials, so we thought it would be helpful to post some of the most frequently asked queries here so you can understand what’s involved when you come in for your HydraFacial treatment.
How Often Should you get a HydraFacial
It’s up to you how often you’d like to treat your skin to a HydraFacial, and of course, there’s always the option of just coming in for a one-off session whenever you feel like it. If, however, you’re looking to treat a certain skin condition, and/or get your skin in tip-top condition then we recommend coming in for a HydraFacial around once a month.
What does HydraFacial do?
A HydraFacial is the ideal treatment if you’re looking to improve your skin’s overall health. It’s a great option to target concerns with texture, tone, and appearance and can help remove impurities that other more surface-level facials just can’t reach.
So, if you’re concerned about skin issues such as pigmentation, ageing, wrinkles, dull or dry skin, acne, or undereye puffiness, a HydraFacial will help.
What does HydraFacial Consist of?
Your medical-grade HydraFacial at AL Aesthetics includes a number of specific treatments all rolled into one HydraFacial session. Your skin will be -
- Cleansed
- Detoxed
- Exfoliated
- Extracted
- Hydrated
The whole process can take anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes, depending on the specific HydraFacial treatment you choose. At AL Aesthetics, we offer five different options for you. They are:
- HydraFacial Keravive Scalp Treatment
- HydraTight Facial
- The Platinum HydraFacial
- Deluxe HydraFacial
- Signature HydraFacial
So, if you’re wondering, ‘are all HydraFacials the same?’, then you’ll see that no, they aren’t. For instance, choose the HydraTight Facial and you’ll enjoy a bespoke treatment that includes the Lipofirm Pro lift – radiofrequency and ultrasound energy that works to firm and tighten your skin. If, however, you opt for the Platinum HydraFacial you’ll receive boosters that are specifically focused on your own unique skin concerns.
Is HydraFacial Good for Acne?
If you suffer from acne, then we appreciate you’ll be looking for a facial that won’t make your skin condition worse. Fortunately, HydraFacials are absolutely great for acne-prone skin.
That’s because they work to really cleanse your pores deeply, whilst at the same time reducing sebum production and oiliness. Your skin will also be correctly hydrated too – which is just as important for acne sufferers as for those without blemished skin.
Does HydraFacial Remove Blackheads?
A HydraFacial does indeed remove blackheads! We know how difficult it can be to get rid of these stubborn spots, but thanks to a HydraFacial you’ll enjoy skin that’s so much clearer.
During your HydraFacial, your skin is cleansed deeply and pores are purges so that any dirt or grime that’s trapped deep down in your pores is extracted and swept away.
How Long does HydraFacial Last?
Whilst you’ll be able to see your skin is glowing and instantly brightened straight after you’ve had your HydraFacial therapy, you’ll still enjoy results for up to six-weeks post treatment. At this point, you may want to book in for your next HydraFacial.
Are HydraFacials Safe?
HydraFacials are a non-invasive treatment and are considered safe for all skin types.
If you’re wondering if there’s anyone who should not get a HydraFacial, then you’d be wise to consider not getting this treatment if you’re currently experiencing a rash, sunburn, or any skin sensitivities from using topical products. If you’re at all concerned, simply speak to one of our team, and we’ll be able to advise you.
Is a HydraFacial Painful?
You’ll be pleased to hear that HydraFacials are considered pain-free. If you are particularly sensitive you may feel a mild tingling sensation or slight pressure from the HydraFacial wand, however most clients enjoy the HydraFacial experience and describe it as relaxing.
How Much is a HydraFacial?
We know the cost of treatments is a keen factor when choosing your next beauty therapy, and if you’re wondering ‘is a HydraFacial worth it?’, we think our clients would tell you that yes, it is. Our HydraFacials range in price depending on the type you choose. They are -
- Signature HydraFacial £95
- Deluxe HydraFacial £120
- The Platinum HydraFacial £170
- HydraTight Facial £230
- HyraFacial Keravive Scalp Treatment £400
